Loved the woodpecker. Seeing the bird working away with all the branches criss-crossing in the background reminded me of seeing cars working up the ramps of the exit from the Major Deegan to the George Washington Bridge with all the nearby bridges criss-crossing over the Harlem River and the Major Deegan in that background.

All these photos are so great. So good to see people bring nature into art. The white duck (which I think is a mix of domestic and muscovey) is from Inwood, I remember his broken bill. Everyone really liked these ducks but unfortunately they mysteriously dissapeared right before christmas.:(

That’s Red, the local duck at Baisley Pond Park. He’s been there for as long as I’ve been in Queens and much longer according to the locals. He’s the only one of his kind in the entire pond, so maybe he is a distant relative of the Inwood group? How he got here would be a mystery though…
